Richard Mille RM 17-02 Tourbillon
This timepiece mesmerizes as its movement dances with light, boasting multiple PVD treatments that adorn its calibre. A symphony of blue, gold, and black PVD treatments intertwine with the microblasted surfaces, casting a spellbinding allure.
The Richard Mille RM 17-02 tourbillon uses a baseplate and bridges created from ribbed, grade 5 titanium, thus providing the movement with great rigidity, as well as precise surface flatness which is essential for the perfect functioning of the gear train. The manufacturing of these titanium components is extremely time consuming due to the hardness of the material and the fact that titanium is flammable during processing thus requiring additional safety precautions during manufacture.
The baseplate and all titanium parts have been subjected to separate and extensive validation tests to insure optimal strength requirements.
The visual effect articulates the calibre and allows the eye to get lost in this maze of color and volume. Comprising a tourbillon regulator, a power reserve and function indicators, the RM17-02 movement also features a unique blocking gear mechanism protecting the winding barrel from possible overwinding.
The taut lines of the iconic tonneau-shaped tripartite case, with its visible spline screws, are further accentuated by the unique texture of satin-finished Grade 5 titanium. This material adds a modern sobriety that stands the test of trends.
Symbolizing the Haute Horlogerie values of both tradition and excellence, the Richard Mille RM 17-02 integrates all our passion for mechanical innovation and our attention to all the visual details.
